The Board of Education (BOE) handled several matters of a legal or bureaucratic nature during their Jan. 11 meeting at Korn School and the idea of all-day kindergarten bubbled to the surface several times.

Board of Education cuts $133,729 after referendum defeat

Hoping it will be enough to pass the 2010-11 proposed education budget at the next referendum, the District 13 Board of Education (BOE) voted to cut $133,729 from their original proposal. This leaves a gross budget of $34.7 million, or a 2.77 percent increase over the current year.

Third vote on education budget is tomorrow

Following the defeat of a $33.9 million gross education budget (gross budget is without expected offsetting receipts) on June 9, the Regional District 13 Board of Education cut $118,000 and is sending a $33.8 million gross budget to referendum tomorrow, June 23. This is less than one percent higher than the current year's budget.

BOE slices budget increase below five percent

 

The Board of Education cut the bottom line of the 2008 school budget by more than $175,000 on Wednesday night, March 26, bringing the total percentage increase to just under five percent.
