Alden E. "Buddy" Keeling, Jr., 65, of Durham, husband of Margaret M. McLean Keeling, died unexpectedly, Monday, March 17, 2008, at their residence.

Born in Hartford, Oct. 25, 1942, a son of Bernice Manternach Keeling of Meriden and the late Alden E. "Bud" Keeling Sr., he had been a Meriden resident for many years and a Durham resident for 40 years. He had been the former proprietor of the Luby Monument Company in Meriden for many years until his retirement several years ago.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Pamela and Gary Chabot, Rachel and Mark Lynch, Alden E. Keeling III and Janet and Robert M. Keeling, all of Durham; his grandchildren: Caitlynn, Mark and Brandon; his brother, Steven H. Keeling and his wife, Holly of Clayton, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John P. Jack Keeling.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday, March 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
