Miller "Bernie" Gay, Jr., 65, of Laurel Brook Rd., Middlefield, beloved husband of Jean (Pabst) Gay, died Thursday, Oct. 30, at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.

He was born in New York City, NY, the son of the late Miller B. Gay Sr. and Claire (Cote) Burns. He was employed at the former International Silver Co., Meriden, was a well known cook in many local restaurants and most recently operated Miller's Lawn & Yard Service. Miller was also an active member of the CT Chevy Club.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew Gay of Middlefield; his two daughters, Emily Walden and her husband Michael, and Molly Gay, all of Middlefield; a half sister, Janice Burns of Colchester; his grandson, Kason Miller Walden.

Burial will be in Middlefield Cemetery. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Weiss Hospice Unit of Middlesex Hospital, c/o Dept. of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.
