Cancer Survivor Clinics

The Cancer Center at MidState will be launching Survivorship Clinics for cancer survivors who have completed treatment but are still looking for ongoing support. Leaders will help survivors adjust to life after cancer. CSI with Henry Lee

The Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science will present a course entitled "Crime Scene Investigation" with Dr. Henry Lee, founder and professor of the Forensic Science Program at the University of New Haven (UNH) and his colleagues as part of the Institute's "Dr. Lee and Friends" series. Lee will discuss what it takes to become a crime scene investigator and what happens at a crime scene, including the types of evidence that might be found and how to document and test the evidence. Family and Friends of Glastonbury native Beth Kenny Foretic, who passed away from lung cancer, have organized the 2nd Annual Free to Breathe® Lung Cancer Walk in her honor.

Sponsored by the National Lung Cancer Partnership, all proceeds will exclusively fund the Partnership’s lung cancer research program.

Historic Obama Convention Speech Viewing Party

On Thursday, August 28, citizens of Middletown, Middlefield, and Durham will gather at 7pm at Wesleyan University to witness history as Senator Barack Obama accepts the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. Obama, who will be the first African American ever to receive the nomination of a major political party, will give his remarks on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

All citizens of Middletown, Middlefield, and Durham are invited to attend the viewing party, which will be hosted jointly by the towns’ Democratic town committees. The event will be held at Wesleyan University and admission will be free.

I agree with most of the points, although some of them (like press) are easier said than done. from personal experience i would definitely recommend running a good blog or personal web site. ironically i know so many freelance web designers that don't even have a website or not a nice site anyway - the common excuse is lack of time... Not the best way to win new work though, is it!
