Two referenda are upcoming for Middlefield residents -- they get the chance to vote on Tuesday, June 2, on the proposed District 13 education budget and on Tuesday, June 9, on the proposed town budget. Both referenda will be held at the Community Center from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.

Durham voters, meanwhile, can vote on the proposed District 13 education budget from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at Korn School. A public meeting on Monday, June 1, at 8 p.m. in Coginchaug auditorium will allow residents of both towns to ask questions about the proposal before they vote on it.

Holding a referendum does not come cheap, and there are significant public impacts depending on whether budgets pass or fail, so all registered voters or property owners in either town are urged to vote whenever they are eligible. If you don't vote, you have forfeited the right to complain!
